HANDYFOLD / FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Practical answers to help you get from input to result. Choose a question below, or jump to a topic.
Getting started
Is Handyfold free? Do I need an account?
All 30 tools are free to use without an account or subscription. Open a tool, choose Load example to explore it, then replace the example with your own input.
Which tasks can I do here?
The collection covers PDF pages, images and print layouts, CSV tables, writing and subtitles, audio editing, and everyday planning. Browse All tools for the complete list. Each tool includes instructions, a worked example and limitations.
How can I check a result before using it?
Select Load example and Run tool first. Compare the result with the worked example on that page. For your own work, inspect the preview or output and keep the original file. These tools do not replace a review of important documents or calculations.
Privacy and offline use
Are my files or text uploaded?
Tool inputs are processed in your browser. The tools do not send selected files or pasted text to a processing server or external API. Loading the website while online still makes normal requests for its pages and assets. See our Privacy Policy for website data practices.
How do I use the tools without internet?
While online, open Use offline, download the full pack and wait for “Offline pack ready”. Bookmark this website. When offline, open the original address in the same browser and browser profile on the same device, choose a tool and work as usual. The pack stores the application inside your browser.
Why did my offline pack disappear?
Clearing website data, private browsing cleanup or browser storage eviction can remove the pack. Another browser, profile or device has a separate cache. Reconnect and download the full pack again. Refresh the pack while online to receive website updates.
Does the offline pack save my files and results?
No. Selected files and generated results are held for the current workspace and are not included in the offline resource pack. Download results you want to keep before resetting or leaving. The site separately remembers up to six recent tool identifiers; you can clear that history from the home page.
Files and browser support
Which file formats are supported?
PDF tools accept PDF documents. Image tools accept PNG, JPEG and WebP. Data tools work with CSV text, and subtitle tools support the formats specified on their pages, including SRT and WebVTT. Audio input decoding depends on your browser; audio exports are 16-bit PCM WAV. Check the chosen tool’s input label and limitations for its exact requirements.
What are the file size limits?
The general selection limits are 20 files and 100 MB total. Images are limited to 15 MB each, and PDF and audio inputs to 30 MB each. Individual operations can impose lower limits for decoded pixels, audio samples or preview pages. A small compressed file may still need substantial memory when decoded; use the error message and the tool’s notes to guide you.
Can I process several files at once?
Tools designed for combining files accept multiple inputs, including Merge PDF, Images to PDF, Image collage, Photo contact sheet and Join audio. Other file tools expect one input. Where available, use the file-list buttons to set the order. Multiple output files can be downloaded individually or packed into a ZIP.
Which browser should I use?
Use an up-to-date browser with JavaScript enabled. Feature availability varies by browser and device, especially audio decoding, playback, clipboard access and offline storage. If an operation fails, try its example, a smaller supported file or another current browser. Offline installation requires HTTPS or a browser-supported local origin.
Why does an audio file fail to open or play?
Your browser may not support the input codec, or the file may be damaged or too large when decoded. Try a PCM WAV file or a smaller clip. If processing succeeds but preview playback is unavailable, download the WAV result and open it in a compatible player on your device.
Results and troubleshooting
Where are downloaded results saved?
Choose the result’s Download link after processing. Your browser controls the save location and may ask where to put the file; otherwise check its Downloads list or default download folder. The website cannot choose a permanent folder for you.
What should I do if a tool reports an error?
Read the message beside the result area. Check the required format, number of files, size and parameter ranges, then try Load example. If the example works, narrow the issue to your input or settings. For a stalled long task, use Cancel task when available, then try a smaller input.
Why is Copy unavailable? What does Reset do?
Clipboard access can be blocked by browser permissions; select the result text and copy it manually if needed. Reset clears the current selection and results and restores default inputs. It does not delete downloaded files from your device.
Can extracting PDF pages permanently redact sensitive information?
No. Selecting, rearranging or rotating pages does not remove sensitive content within a retained page. This site does not provide a secure redaction tool. Read why extraction is not redaction before sharing sensitive documents.
How do I report a problem or suggest a tool?
Visit Contact for our contact details. Include the tool name, browser and version, the steps you took, and the error message. Use a small non-sensitive example when explaining a problem; avoid sending private source documents.
